It’s Monday, and I have nothing to write about.  The Republican primary is still going on but that’s old news (really old).

This past weekend, a friend emailed me this puzzle. I tried to solve it for a while, but the more I tried to work out the answer, the harder it seemed.  I had to get my friend to email me the answer.

When she did, I wondered if it’s really true that pre-school children can solve this in 5 to 10 minutes.  But on second thought, I don’t doubt it.

We grown-ups (and especially we women) tend to complicate things.  We come up with convoluted reasons for things that happen (or not) to us, when the answers are usually a lot simpler. Wasn’t it Sex and the City who taught us that if the guy you went out with hasn’t called you back, after a week, it’s not that he’s busy, “he’s just not that into you”?

But before I go any further attempting to write a post on the female human psyche, in order  to feel a bit less stupid about not having been able to solve the puzzle, I’ll just stop.   It’s just a puzzle.   Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.
