Here’s this week’s OpinionList. Enjoy!

When Video Games Are Good For You:  Don’t get too angry when you find your kids playing video games too much. They don’t necessarily render them anti-social and might even end up saving their lives. Gryffin Sanders, a 10-year old boy, who spends hours playing Mario Kart, claims that this trained him to have the skills needed to drive his great-grandmother’s car safely to the side of the road, when she unexpectedly collapsed at the wheel.  After getting a lot of praise and news coverage for preventing a head-on collision with oncoming traffic, he declared, “I want to be humble about this.”

True Colors: “As President Barack Obama spoke in Phoenix Tuesday about responsible home ownership, hundreds of people stood outside protesting his policies, many shouting and carrying racially charged chants and signs. ‘Bye Bye Black Sheep…He’s 47 percent Negro…Half-White Muslim’… ”  It saddens me greatly to read about the blatant racism that President Obama faced in Arizona. But, on the other hand, I feel quite relieved. Finally, we are seeing the true colors of many of those who have opposed him so radically since he became President.

Mitch McConnell Stinks: Jesse Benton, head of McConnell’s re-election campaign, was caught on tape saying that the only reason he’s working with McConnell is to benefit Rand Paul in 2016. His exact words were, “Between you and me, I’m sorta holding my nose for two years, cause what we’re doing here is gonna be a big benefit to Rand in ’16.”  Benton has already worked with Rand Paul as his campaign manager when the latter ran for Congress in 2010. Things can’t be great for  McConnell these days, and I couldn’t be happier. As I’ve repeatedly said, “Mitch McConnell must go”.  After all, he stinks.

In The Market For A [White] House?:  Looking for a 16-bedroom, 35-bathroom house on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC?  You could have The White House for $319 million, if it were on sale. That’s $69 million more than Jeff Bezos paid for The Washington Post. I knew he had gotten a bargain!

Speaking Of Jeff Bezos: Everybody is talking (and writing) about the purchase of The Washington Post by Jeff Bezos. It’s almost a miracle that I could find other articles to include in this week’s OpinionList. I was as surprised with the news as everyone else, but happily so. I love Amazon, and I like Jeff Bezos, and best of all, he’s not Rupert Murdoch.

Reince Preibus on CNN and NBC: WTF?:  Both CNN and NBC are planning to run programs about Hillary Clinton and her tenure as Secretary of State. NBC will air a miniseries starring Diane Lane as Hillary, while CNN is planning to run a documentary. This has Reince Priebus, the head of the RNC, all bent out of shape. He threatened to ban both networks from the 2016 Republican primary debates demanding that they “cancel this political ad masquerading as an unbiased production.”  These GOP’ers never cease to amaze  shock me. Since when does a political party have the right to dictate a television network’s programming? Are we living in the U.S. or in Putin’s Russia? What does he have to say about Fox News, an entire network dedicated to push the GOP agenda? Besides, instead of ranting and raving, why doesn’t the GOP make a documentary about its platform or about its rising stars, Rubio and Cruz? Perhaps Priebus is so upset precisely because today’s GOP doesn’t have a Hillary, a tenable agenda, or, even worse for the party, a chance at the White House.
